I've become She my younger self dreamed of

When I was in high school, I had big dreams that fueled my drive. I put in effort and long hours to position myself to achieve them. Over time, I’ve realized it’s natural to always set new goals — to keep striving, to want more. But in the process, I’ve sometimes forgotten how far I’ve come. I’ve been doing amazing. The hours I’ve put in were not in vain.

Here’s a list of the things I once dreamed of, things I actually achieved. These are the moments my younger self would be proud of. And the woman I am today — the one my teenage self dreamt of — she did it

My Achieved Milestones

  1. I got a bachelor’s pass and made it into university.

  2. I received a merit bursary for the first year of my university studies.

  3. I was funded by NSFAS from my second year onward.

  4. I moved into a single room in third year (oh how I love my space).

  5. I was honoured with an invitation to join the Golden Key International Honour Society.

  6. I passed my final year with all distinctions.

  7. I got a job and worked for 5 years.

  8. I bought a spacious 2-bedroom apartment at age 23.

  9. I started a business selling my second-hand clothes, furniture, and dΓ©cor pieces.

  10. I converted my large living room into a third bedroom.

  11. I began renting out two of the bedrooms.

  12. I quit my first post-university job and still had enough income to pay my bond.

  13. I’m now in a relationship with a man who sees me, listens to me, puts in effort to make me happy, and has a beautiful soul.

  14. I received a scholarship and enrolled for my second degree — a BBA.

Personal Reflections

From my observation:

  • Giving my life to God has been the best decision I’ve ever made. He loves me deeply and wants me to win.

  • God doesn’t place desires in our hearts for nothing — He plants them because He already knows the ending and the best version of who we are meant to become.

Looking Ahead

Moving forward, I want to be intentional about celebrating my life every day — by reflecting on what has already worked out, acknowledging my heart’s desires, and putting in my best effort to turn my dreams into reality.

Currently, I’m focused on:

  • Finding a second job, and

  • Investing time in learning how to grow in the property business — even without upfront funding.

That’s where my heart truly is.

Celebration Suggestions for Each Milestone

  1. Revisit your high school yearbook and write a heartfelt letter to your younger self.

  2. Treat yourself to a special meal or a mini solo celebration.

  3. Light a gratitude candle or say a prayer for the support you received.

  4. Plan a peaceful solo day — music, journaling, rest, and your favorite things.

  5. Frame your Golden Key certificate or create a small wall of achievements.

  6. Share your all-distinction story with a mentor or friend — remind yourself you earned it.

  7. Write a reflection on how your work experience has shaped you.

  8. Host a cozy celebration at home — even if it’s just for yourself.

  9. Invest in a small business tool or write a vision plan for your brand.

  10. Document the transformation with before/after pics and post your win!

  11. Use some rental income to reward yourself with something meaningful.

  12. Journal about your courage and how you made it through that transition.

  13. Write a note or plan a date with your partner to celebrate love and mutual growth.

  14. Buy yourself a new journal or planner to track your academic and business goals.

Responsible. Smart. And most importantly — still going for it.

This is IT right here πŸͺ„✨

December last year.  I love her 😍  I was going through hell and back here. Guys, 2024 needs to be erased from the history of years—no ways! But I still tried to do the things that felt true to me, like being creative with my wardrobe. :) Now, I am the happiest. I am as happy as a toddler learning things for the first time. I am as happy as a young adult who’s realizing things her younger self always dreamt of. I last felt this alive before my teens—before my diagnosis with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. I am so very much at peace; feeling strong has become the cornerstone of my inner serenity. If this was the only gift I had to receive from God, I wouldn’t dare ask for anything else. Or think of trading it for anything later down the line. This is IT right here!!! I am sooooo happy—said a girl who suffered joint pain, swelling, stiffness, redness, warmth around the joints, fatigue, fever, rash, loss of appetite, weight loss, limping, decreased range of motion, eye prob...

An alignment conversation πŸ₯°πŸ˜Œ

Sometimes, the best way to discover what you truly love is to look back at your younger self. Before the influence of society, teachings, and expectations shaped your perspective, your younger self knew the raw, honest truth about your passions. Reconnecting with that inner voice can reveal what genuinely sparks joy and purpose inside you—beyond all the noise and external opinions. In this blog, I’ll share how who I am passionate about now is deeply connected to that authentic, childlike clarity, in the form of a prayer rooted in assurance and hope for what seemed like a far future then. One thing about this guy — he’s fulfilled every genuine, unselfish request I ever made to God about adult love. When I was 11, I prayed for a life partner, a best friend really, trusting that when the time was right and I was older and ready, I’d find someone special. Now, being with you feels exactly like what I imagined during those prayers — like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be, living out the bes...

Am not running out of time

Looking back at my life, I realise I’ve always started early. I began Grade 1 at the age of 5, started university at 17, and bought my first property at 23. I enjoyed the fact that people noticed I was the youngest in class, and I worked hard to be among the top 10 students at school. This drive really began when I chose my subjects and followed my commitment to excelling or should I say, slaying in life. In June 2024, I made the brave decision to leave my job because I chose myself and my health over demanding work. My career requires me to constantly pour into others, and most of the time I had to fake being well and energetic, even on days when I was crumbling inside. I remember one day vividly: I had just returned from external moderation, exhausted, with a badly swollen eye from allergies my eye was barely open. Yet, I still went straight into a parents’ meeting at 16:00, showing up as if nothing was wrong, despite the obvious. That’s who I’ve been all my life: pushing through, be...
