Show up OR Hide

ARTICLE FOCUS:

Showing up- Inclined to/ disinclined to

Hiding- Willingly

Life is about being present. To live then is an activity of being here. We show up everyday because we are here, to date. Showing up can be explained as taking any action no matter what that looks like. It is going to school, going to work, meeting academic or work deadline, honouring appointments with friends or self, attending family events or showing up for  scary stuff like surgery. We always show up and  we are either inclined when doing it or disinclined.

The human battery

When we are inclined to show up we are passionate, we are intentional. When we are disinclined we are tired and would rather not be here (work, school, completing assignments, meeting family or friends or going for surgery). Most of the times we are solving problems, we are serving, life in its form asks this from us. Priorities, needs and expectations determine for us the how part. Most days we are invested and authentic in our daily responsibilities, we bring in our full A game.  However, some days we present ourselves with shaking knees and mental instability, because being here is what we do. We are here to assist in the process of growth. Growing self and others. Adhering to the expectations and doing what seems right.

A show is a good beautiful show

Big Thanks for super warm days, days we are not pretending to be winning but actually winning. Life is but a balance...Any show is a good show; when we desire to and when we dragging ourselves. It is good,  and most beautiful when it is 'a trying day'. Trying to show up at school, show up at work, show up for family or friends, show up for therapy, and show up for surgery.

And when we have been trying: showing up even when its difficult it is important to stop between moments and acknowledge this about ourselves; that we are doing this the best way we can at present, and its stunning.

The balance

Sir Joseph Cambell once said "Life is without meaning. You bring the meaning to it. The meaning of life is whatever you ascribe it to be. Being alive is the meaning." I think it is a quote worthy to be pondered upon in any way one chooses to.

Life commands balance, otherwise things fall apart, and we fall apart. I celebrate you for showing up and i encourage you to hide when its time, and surely the time does come.

Make time for self and listen. Everything and everyone matters BUT, only when you matter FIRST. Take a good care of yourself because you are here for something bigger than yourself.

Blessed to bless: Service is the call

I am happy to see the heart of God in partnering with me to bless others. While this is my call to answer, I am careful not to be overly excited but to remain level-headed, as I understand the cost of being chosen to work for the Lord. Walking with Him in itself can be daunting; it’s a great responsibility that involves exposing my heart, forcing me to accept where I am wrong and engage in doing the job to unlearn and learn. Service comes with sacrifice at the same time it is deeply fulfilling and the very reason for our existence. A call, I explain as a thing that describe me yet feels foreign. It’s both familiar and new. The beginning is exhilarating, as it resembles pursuing a passion that feels more like a hobby. However, I recognize that there have been times I fought against the will of God because it was taxing to be in the place He called me to remain, doing the work and interacting with challenging individuals. I have celebrated at the revelation that my struggle is meant to e...

The Responsibility to Remember

This blog is inspired by a sermon titled “ Who Is God Calling You to Be ” by Sarah Jakes RobertÅ›. In the journey of faith, we often encounter challenges that test our resolve and beliefs. However, we have power to war. When faced with adversity, it’s vital to put our knowledge of Scripture to work and crash the head of the serpent. The Bible reminds us of the enmity between us and the serpent, as stated in Genesis 3:15 (NIV) “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” This powerful verse serves as a battle cry, urging us to fight back against depression, anxiety, fear, life’s challenges and the lies that tell us we are not good enough or that our dreams are too big to attain. When challenges arise, we must go back to the feet of Jesus. There, we can pick His brain and meditate on what He tells us. It’s essential to internalize these teachings and repeat them to ourselves. When the enemy r...
