The Responsibility to Remember

This blog is inspired by a sermon titled “Who Is God Calling You to Be” by Sarah Jakes RobertΕ›.

In the journey of faith, we often encounter challenges that test our resolve and beliefs. However, we have power to war. When faced with adversity, it’s vital to put our knowledge of Scripture to work and crash the head of the serpent. The Bible reminds us of the enmity between us and the serpent, as stated in Genesis 3:15 (NIV) “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” This powerful verse serves as a battle cry, urging us to fight back against depression, anxiety, fear, life’s challenges and the lies that tell us we are not good enough or that our dreams are too big to attain.

When challenges arise, we must go back to the feet of Jesus. There, we can pick His brain and meditate on what He tells us. It’s essential to internalize these teachings and repeat them to ourselves. When the enemy reminds us of our weaknesses, we should respond, “IT IS WRITTEN.” This declaration is not just a statement; it’s a commitment to war in prayer, aligning our actions with the promises of God as we conquer the battles before us.

Key Message

Responsibility to Remember: It’s our duty to keep the promise in mind while we are in the midst of challenges or processes. Remembering God’s promises can be the anchor that steadies us through life's storms.

Supporting Verse

Divine Timing: The following verse emphasizes that God's Spirit will intervene and provide support exactly when we need it. -John 14:26 (NIV): "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."

Action Steps

1. Start with What You Know:

Reflect on your existing knowledge and experiences. Acknowledge the promises that have been made to you by God whether through Scripture, prophecy or revelation. To implement use what you know, start where you are God will provide ideas, clarity and a plan once we on the move.

2. Stay Grounded in Faith:

Remind yourself of the faithfulness of God and His promises. Trust that His Spirit is always present, even in difficult times.

3. Acknowledge the Process:

Understand that growth often occurs in the midst of struggle. Recognize that the journey may be challenging, but it serves a purpose.

4. Practice Patience:

Cultivate patience as you wait for the fulfillment of promises. Remind yourself that God’s timing is perfect, and He knows what you need and when you need it.

5. Seek Guidance:

Invite the Holy Spirit into your decision-making process. Pray for clarity and understanding as you navigate through your challenges.

6. Reflect on Past Experiences:

Look back at previous times when you felt overwhelmed but later recognized God’s hand in your situation. Use those memories as encouragement during current struggles.

7. Encourage Others:

Share your journey and insights with others who may be facing similar challenges. Build a community of support that reinforces the importance of remembering promises.

This is IT right here πŸͺ„✨

December last year.  I love her 😍  I was going through hell and back here. Guys, 2024 needs to be erased from the history of years—no ways! But I still tried to do the things that felt true to me, like being creative with my wardrobe. :) Now, I am the happiest. I am as happy as a toddler learning things for the first time. I am as happy as a young adult who’s realizing things her younger self always dreamt of. I last felt this alive before my teens—before my diagnosis with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. I am so very much at peace; feeling strong has become the cornerstone of my inner serenity. If this was the only gift I had to receive from God, I wouldn’t dare ask for anything else. Or think of trading it for anything later down the line. This is IT right here!!! I am sooooo happy—said a girl who suffered joint pain, swelling, stiffness, redness, warmth around the joints, fatigue, fever, rash, loss of appetite, weight loss, limping, decreased range of motion, eye prob...

An alignment conversation πŸ₯°πŸ˜Œ

Sometimes, the best way to discover what you truly love is to look back at your younger self. Before the influence of society, teachings, and expectations shaped your perspective, your younger self knew the raw, honest truth about your passions. Reconnecting with that inner voice can reveal what genuinely sparks joy and purpose inside you—beyond all the noise and external opinions. In this blog, I’ll share how who I am passionate about now is deeply connected to that authentic, childlike clarity, in the form of a prayer rooted in assurance and hope for what seemed like a far future then. One thing about this guy — he’s fulfilled every genuine, unselfish request I ever made to God about adult love. When I was 11, I prayed for a life partner, a best friend really, trusting that when the time was right and I was older and ready, I’d find someone special. Now, being with you feels exactly like what I imagined during those prayers — like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be, living out the bes...

Am not running out of time

Looking back at my life, I realise I’ve always started early. I began Grade 1 at the age of 5, started university at 17, and bought my first property at 23. I enjoyed the fact that people noticed I was the youngest in class, and I worked hard to be among the top 10 students at school. This drive really began when I chose my subjects and followed my commitment to excelling or should I say, slaying in life. In June 2024, I made the brave decision to leave my job because I chose myself and my health over demanding work. My career requires me to constantly pour into others, and most of the time I had to fake being well and energetic, even on days when I was crumbling inside. I remember one day vividly: I had just returned from external moderation, exhausted, with a badly swollen eye from allergies my eye was barely open. Yet, I still went straight into a parents’ meeting at 16:00, showing up as if nothing was wrong, despite the obvious. That’s who I’ve been all my life: pushing through, be...
