FRIENDSHIP DEFINED





On July 13th i wrote a piece titled "i will give me a flower too when i am not okay". On the piece i explain moments that taught me i cannot be present for everyone while absent for me, simply because we need to be giving what we possess. I am learning that to be a good friend to others you must understand what that means from being that to yourself every time, all the times. Life, seasons and situations are a practical class providing me an opportunity to keep on trying. The class bring different experiences each day, what makes being part of the space beautiful is patience and kindness are the authenticity. Its a love process, mindful or not everything done in love it is done right, not perfect but right.
 
This morning i was reflecting on the qualities of a good friendship. The first question that came to mind was "are you always there for yourself, all the times"? Presence plays a huge role, especially when there is necessity, when it matters the most. Good friendships are founded on love and patience is the virtue. I was drawn to the Kind of friendship with God, there is endless love, kindness and patience, even when things are ugly. 
 
2 Timothy 3:16 says " the word is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong". This is my relationship with the Lord, its strongly held on the truth and sometimes the truth is heavy when i am wrong, unfair or disobedient. But every time He corrects me He does it with love and kindness. Because of the nature of our relationship, i can listen and trust His correction. He celebrates every good thing with me, on ugly moments He sticks around holding my hand.

Daddy teaches me how to be a good, loving, kind friend to me, then others in my life. I will always be a learner and that's enough for me because i always need my teacher. This is friendship defined!
